§ 54-79. Causes of blight or blighting factors.

  • The following activities and conditions are hereby determined to be causes of blight or blighting factors which, if allowed to exist, will tend to result in blighted and undesirable neighborhoods. Causes of blight or blighting factors include the following:

    (1)

    The storage of garbage, refuse, waste materials other than in an approved container for pickup by the city or a licensed refuse hauler.

    (2)

    The storage of a disabled motor vehicle in violation of section 74-201 of this code.

    (3)

    The outdoor storage of appliances, equipment or other materials not being utilized in accordance with their original design, intent or purpose.

    (4)

    The outdoor storage or use of furniture or furnishings not designed, intended and manufactured as outdoor furniture or furnishings including, but not limited to, upholstered chairs and sofas, shelving, cabinets, dressers, carpeting and carpet pad, mattresses and bedding.

    (5)

    The accumulation of animal excrement.

    (6)

    The accumulation of yard waste.
