§ 106-444. Billing adjustment.

  • (a)

    Customers of the water service may seek an adjustment of a water bill by submitting a utility adjustment request to the accounts receivable department within 20 days of the date of the utility billing.

    (b)

    The water department superintendent shall conduct an informal investigation regarding the facts and circumstances that support an adjustment of the water bill. The authority to make an adjustment by the water department superintendent shall be based upon actual use of the utility and not financial considerations.

    (c)

    At the close of the informal investigation the water department superintendent, based upon the information received during the informal investigation, shall either find the billing to be appropriate or adjust the billing and notify the appropriate departments.
