§ 3.3.3. Commission vacancies.

In the case of the death, resignation, permanent removal from the city or ward, or vacancies from any other cause, except recall, in the offices of the mayor or any commissioner, the commission shall appoint a suitable registered elector of the city to the office of mayor or commissioner of the ward in which the vacancy occurs who shall hold office until the next odd-year general election at which a successor is elected. The person elected shall hold office for the remainder of the unexpired term. The appointee shall possess all powers and perform all duties of the office to which they are appointed.
