§ 94-178. Plans and specifications.

  • Before any person shall be permitted to lay any conduit in the city, such person shall first file with the superintendent a plan, drawn to scale, showing the streets, avenues, alleys or other public places, or parts thereof, in which it is proposed to lay such conduit and the particular part thereof to be occupied by such conduit and shall, at the time, file with the superintendent definite written specifications of the electrical conductors and conduits proposed to be laid, specifying the material and dimensions thereof, the depth of the conduits, the methods of insulation and the devices to be used for the protection of life and property, all of which shall be of the most approved kind, and a written agreement accepting the conditions imposed by this division. The superintendent is hereby vested with the power and authority to amend, change or modify such plans and specifications, as he may deem best for the public good and safety, at the time the same are filed or while the work is being done. No person shall be authorized or permitted to proceed with any of the work until the superintendent has approved the plans and specifications, as modified, changed or amended, if so modified, changed or amended, and has reported his action to the city commission for its approval.
