§ 85-10. Sign structures.

  • The following requirements apply to all signs requiring a permit:

    (1)

    General design . Signs and sign structures shall be designed and constructed to meet any requirements of applicable Michigan construction codes, and with all applicable regulations adopted thereunder.

    (2)

    Maintenance . Every sign, including those specifically exempt from this chapter with respect to permits and permit fees, shall be maintained in good repair and sound structural condition at all times. All signs shall be kept neatly painted, including all metal parts and supports thereof that are not galvanized or constructed of rust resistant metals.

    (3)

    Safety . All signs must remain safe and secure during the period of use. All parts of the signs, including bolts and cables, shall remain painted and free from corrosion.
