§ 30-39. Term; expiration and renewal.
(a)
The license year of annual licenses shall be January 1 to December 31, inclusive. Unless otherwise specifically provided, licenses shall be issued for the entire year; and neither the license nor the fee may be prorated.
(b)
At the time that any activity first becomes licensed under this article, pro rata credit shall be given for the unexpired portion of a previously issued city license.
(c)
Applications for licenses and renewals shall be accepted and licenses issued for a period of 15 days prior to the annual expiration date. Unless otherwise provided, all renewal applications shall be considered and processed as original applications. All annual licenses issued to persons holding a similar license within one year previously shall be considered renewals.
(d)
A penalty fee of one-half of the license fee shall be assessed for all renewal applications filed after January 15.
(e)
In all cases where a license is authorized for less than one year, the effective dates shall be specified on the license.
