§ 2-386. Purpose.

  • This article is designed to assure that all contractors or vendors doing business with the city and providing goods or services valued at $10,000.00 or more to the city shall comply with all applicable laws relative to equal employment opportunity and shall not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment on the basis of religion, race, color, national origin, age, sex, marital status, height, weight, arrest record or handicap. Such contractors or vendors shall take affirmative action in keeping with all federal and state laws to insure that applicants are employed without discrimination in relation to training, upgrading, promotions, demotions and separations.
