§ 118-57. Watercraft equipment.
(a)
Coast Guard regulations. No person shall operate a watercraft which does not meet all applicable equipment requirements of the U.S. Coast Guard.
(b)
Mufflers. No person shall operate a watercraft with outboard motor or with inboard motor, unless equipped with an adequately muffled exhaust to muffle or suppress the exhaust at all times so as not to create excessive or unusual noise. The mufflers shall be kept closed and the device kept in proper working order by the person operating the watercraft at all times when the engine is in operation.
(c)
Lights generally. No person shall operate or moor a watercraft within the harbor during the nighttime, between sunset and sunrise, unless properly lighted in compliance with any applicable U.S. Coast Guard regulations.
(d)
Searchlights. No person operating a watercraft shall use searchlights indiscriminately or in such manner as to annoy or disturb other persons or interfere in the operation of other watercraft.
(e)
Life preservers. No person shall operate a watercraft unless it shall carry at least one U.S. Coast Guard approved life preserver or ring buoy or cushion or other approved device, for each person on board, so placed as to be readily accessible.
